Basic Ideas on Digital Marketing Strategies for the Beginners (Part-2) In my previous article on digital marketing, I’ve discussed some basic ideas of digital marketing. In this article, I’ll discuss the various ways or means of digital marketing through which we can promote our business or brand using the internet. We can consider these as the fields, areas, sectors, or types of digital marketing also. 

Various Digital Marketing Strategies:

Companies or business owners can market their products or services online through the internet using several processes. The most effective ways or types are described below: 

1. Search Engine Optimization (SEO): 

 

Search Engine Optimization is a technical strategy to get a website to the front page of search engines by managing it with organic keywords, good content, and rules at no cost. It is the method of increasing the quality and quantity of targeted traffic to a website or any kind of online content. Nowadays people make a decision by searching from Google or other search engines before buying any product. Google updates its information regularly. If your site is search engine optimized, then it will appear on the first page of Google search and as a result, visitors for that site will increase. SEO helps to boost your website, your YouTube channel, or social networking accounts so that these can be shown on the first page of the search engines such as Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc. If your website, blog, e-commerce site, or YouTube channel is shown on the first page of the Search Engine Result Pages (SERPs), then you can drive more and more traffic on your sites or channels. Thus you can market your business also more effectively. You can use both organic and paid methods of SEO for promoting your business site or channel. 

2. Search Engine Marketing (SEM)

 

Search Engine Marketing is that kind of digital marketing where you come to the front page of search results of a search engine by paying it. As you may have noticed many times, when you search for something through search engines like Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc; you will see ads in the first 3 to 5 results of the first page of the search engine results. Advertisements are usually placed and preceded by the symbol [Ad]. Various companies or business owners try to market, promote or find customers for their products or services through Google AdWords by displaying advertisements in Google search engine or other online search engines in this way. The whole process is called Search Engine Marketing (SEM). This is the paid method of Search Engine Optimization (SEO). 

3. Content marketing: 

 

Content marketing is the act of creating different types of content for a product or service and advertising or promoting it on the internet through various means. Content is the digital expression of a topic or object through a blog, picture, or video. There are two major kinds of content marketing. These are explained below:

     i) Website Marketing or Blogging:

 

Today you will find a blog and website of all types of companies. This is because today people search the internet for getting answers to all kinds of big and small questions. Now, if you create a blog or website to answer questions related to your company, business, or product and give it to people through articles; then this blog or website might be a good way for the promotion of your brand or product. Thus people can find out any kind of information with reviews on any brand, product, service, or company through a website or blog on the internet at home.

    ii)  Video Marketing or Vlogging: 

 

Today many companies or business owners are promoting their business or brand through creating videos on their YouTube channels. If you go to YouTube and search for any company, you will find many videos on their official products or services. YouTube is the second largest search engine after Google where millions of people come to watch videos every day. So it has been proved highly beneficial to make videos to advertise any product or service on YouTube. There are some other video marketing or Vlogging platforms except YouTube such as Dailymotion, Vimeo, Filmora, etc. 

4. Social Media Marketing (SMM): 

 

Social media marketing is a form of marketing where brands, products, or services are promoted using various online social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Linked In, Google+, Reddit, etc. Currently, most internet users are using Social Media. Because everyone from school-going students to retired old people use social networking sites. Due to the CoVid-19 pandemic period, the usage of social networks has been increasing more and more day by day. So different companies can get targeted customers for their product category in a much easier way through social media marketing. Social media marketing is an important part of digital marketing as it is becoming more effective than other ways of digital marketing to reach customers for promoting products or services.

5. Email Marketing: 

 

Email marketing is another division or medium of digital marketing techniques, where the marketing or promotion of a product, brand, or service is done through email. Generally, email marketing is not the way of sending emails. Here, you have to write a good message about the service, product, or brand you want to promote. Then that message has to be sent to the email addresses of thousands of targeted people to attract traffic to advertise your goods or services. To do so, the most active and responsive email addresses of your targeted customers or purchasers should be collected. You can generate email leads through Opt-in Form creation on your website and using some email marketing platforms such as Aweber, MailChimp, GetResponse, etc. There are also some online email extracting sites for extracting the targeted email list according to your search results. Email marketing allows you to promote any product or service to thousands of people at once through one mail. Today, various online marketers are using a lot of email marketing services and promoting their business with just one click.

6. Affiliate or CPA Marketing: 

 

Affiliate marketing is a medium of digital marketing where different companies market or promote their brand or product on various online websites or blogs through paying commissions. The Affiliate Marketing strategy requires a website, blog, or YouTube channel to get targeted customers for a product or service. 

 

CPA marketing is also one kind of affiliate marketing. CPA means Cost per Action. When a user clicks on an affiliate link and completes a certain action, such as filling out a form, signing up for a free trial, downloading any applications, software, or eBook; commissions are paid. There are some CPA affiliate networking sites such as Craiglist, CPAgrip, CPAlead, Maxbounty, etc.

I hope you are well informed now of the different types of digital marketing. As such, in digital marketing or online marketing, many other ways or means may be used. However, I think I have discussed the kinds of shots today that are mostly used. I don’t want to prolong this article because some readers can’t keep their patience to read long articles.
